DeCiTeL at the Lifelong Learning Week 2025
The Decitel Project started the day dedicated to "intermediaries" of the European #LifelongLearningWeek 2025, the flagship event about lifelong learning, organised by the Lifelong Learning Platform - European Civil Society for Education.
Inclusive citizenship education: The role of teacher education.
How does teacher training and education contribute to better democracy-related learning and social and civic competence? And if we understand it as a cooperative task between higher education, civil society/non-formal education, teachers, schools, parents, students, and the state, to contribute to democratic resilience, too?
The team of the Erasmus teacher academy discussed these questions and gave insights into their perspectives and practices.
We thank Daria Arlavi and Ljubica Petrovic Baronica from the European Commission/DG EAC for the friendly exchange and discussion!
Moderated by Nils-Eyk Z. (DARE - Democracy and Human Rights Education in Europe/Arbeitskreis deutscher Bildungsstätten e.V.), with representatives of the project consortium - Francesca Osima ( Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions), Claudio Dondi (Education Inspiring Peace Laboratory - EIP Lab), Jo Cochuyt & Papatya Dalkiran (zij/haar) (HOGENT), and EPA - European Parents' Association.
The #DeCiTeL project is coordinated by Boğaziçi University and a partnership of eleven higher education institutions and networks.
