The DECITEL journey started at the end of May, when the consortium gathered in Istanbul for the first Transnational Partners Meeting, hosted by Boğaziçi University, marking the official kick-off of this three-year project dedicated to strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education across Europe.

During the event, partners pointed out strengths, gaps, and emerging needs, laying the groundwork for a joint vision of what democratic citizenship teaching and learning could become.

The major outcome of the meeting was the development of the 12 Design Principles of the Teacher Academy Alliance that will guide the consortium's work in shaping innovative training pathways for educators across Europe.
